Corner bench with storage: once again, my beautiful wife was the inspiration for this project, a corner bench in our dining room for lots of guests and handy storage. as usual, i took a while coming up with a design i considered safe enough for our house with small boys.. For a corner bench, start with the longer side. to get the exact measurement of the length, measure from the corner to where the final edge of the bench will be, then subtract 1” to accommodate the plywood and trim. cut two 2x4s to that size. we made the depth of our bench 17-1/2”..
